Who We Are
About ECHO
Grant and tender help so more good ideas get funded to do more good.
At the heart of ECHO is a simple goal: to help more good happen. Every grant, tender and project we support is part of a bigger mission to back people who are trying to strengthen communities, create opportunities and make a positive difference.

International Project in Timor-Leste
ECHO was founded in regional New South Wales by Jack Gray. Its purpose is to create equal access to structured funding support so that viable ideas are not limited by capital, knowledge, geography, age, or background.
ECHO was created in response to a clear gap in the funding landscape. Across Australia, there are strong ideas in communities, schools, charities, small businesses, social enterprises, creative projects, and regional organisations, but many never progress because the pathway to funding is complex, competitive, and difficult to navigate. Grant and tender systems often require eligibility mapping, compliance checks, project planning, budgets, outcome statements, evidence, timelines, risk management, and professional written submissions. ECHO provides the structure around those ideas so they have a stronger chance of moving from concept to real-world impact.
ECHO is not simply a writing service. It acts as a facilitation partner, helping shape project concepts, match them with appropriate funding opportunities, and prepare submissions that are clear, compliant, strategic, and aligned with assessment criteria. The organisation supports individuals, community groups, charities, businesses, social enterprises, and organisations with credible funding or procurement pathways.
Our Model
A Social Enterprise Built on Access
A defining feature of ECHO is its social enterprise model. While ECHO delivers professional commercial services, it is built around access and impact rather than profit alone. Its model is designed to support full-fee commercial work while preserving pathways for community, regional, youth-led, and impact-driven initiatives that may not have the resources to pay for support upfront.
This allows ECHO to balance professional standards with a strong commitment to fairness, accessibility, and community benefit.
International Impact
Timor-Leste, 2025
In October 2025, ECHO helped take a team of young people to Timor-Leste, creating a practical international experience focused on service, connection, learning, and global responsibility. The trip connected young Australians with charitable work, encouraged the next generation to understand and support developing nations, and provided the opportunity to attend an international permaculture festival.
The Timor-Leste trip demonstrates ECHO's commitment to action, not just advice. The organisation is willing to help create real experiences that expose young people to international development, sustainability, community-led change, and the responsibilities of global citizenship.
What's Coming
Building Funding Infrastructure
Alongside its direct services, ECHO has built Grant Scan, an intelligent grant-matching tool that helps individuals and organisations find grants they are genuinely eligible for, drawn from a live database of more than 2,500 Australian opportunities. Users can save their project, turn on monitoring, and receive automatic email alerts whenever a new eligible grant opens.
Grant Scan also reflects ECHO's social enterprise model. Organisations that purchase access can choose to sponsor an in-need changemaker from Australia or Timor-Leste to receive hands-on grant support at no extra cost. These initiatives reflect ECHO's long-term ambition to become national funding infrastructure, not just a consultancy.
